Enrichment & Student Leadership
It is often the enrichment activities that provide the most vivid memories of school days and rightly so! Enrichment opportunities support and add depth to learning whilst developing important personal skills and a greater understanding of the world.
Our students have the chance to enjoy new experiences and consolidate their timetabled learning through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.
We have a range of residential trips taking place each year which includes the Year 8 trip to France, the ski trip and World Challenge. We also have theatre trips, field trips, music events, university visits and careers events.
A wide range of projects and activities enhance students’ learning across each faculty. In drama, the annual production is always astonishing, students also have various opportunities to see live performances both on trips to local theatres and theatre companies visiting school to perform and put on workshops. In science we have regular STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) events taking place in school.
We are committed to ensuring that our students embody our values of friendship, excellence and respect. This ethos is supported with extensive opportunities for students, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the National Citizen Service.
Student Leadership
Our student leadership body is made up of our heads of school, deputy heads of school and house captains.
Student leadership provides students with opportunities to develop their leadership potential. We aim to give them as many leadership experiences as possible, encouraging students to engage in the wider life of the school. Our student leaders are role models and ambassadors for Northallerton School & Sixth Form College and therefore must embody the Northallerton School & Sixth Form College values of friendship, excellence and respect.
